Current Volunteer Opportunities:

  • School Supplies - PAC and staff have discussed the use of a third party school supplies vendor for next school year. If you are interested: we need PAC volunteers to get quotes and sample packs from companies. We need 1-2 volunteers to do this.

  • Movie Night - Our next movie night is Friday April 5th and we need volunteers to help set up and help the evening go as smoothly as possible.

  • Spring Cleaning - We have a great storage space downstairs at the school, but we need some help DECLUTTERING! Anyone in the mood for a little clean up and re-organizing?

  • Web Updates - we are looking for someone to update the PAC website. No experience necessary, a PAC volunteer would be happy to provide guidance and help.

  • Traffic Safety Committee is looking for additional volunteers to remind and guide traffic on Carnation Street before school.

  • Heights Night Committee we would like to start recruiting for a committee to find and collect donations for both our silent and noisy auctions!

  • Hot Lunch - If you are interested in volunteering with the hot lunch program by sorting and handing out lunches please contact jenny.avey@gmail.com

Winter Market on Friday, December 8th

The PAC is excited to have the Winter Market on Friday, December 8th during the school day. Afterschool, it will be open to staff and parents/caregivers from 3-4pm.

This is a FUN holiday event at the school for students - where a “market” of lightly used, donated items are set up in the gym, and each class can shop for up to 5 loved ones each. We will even have a wrapping station so students can bring home wrapped gifts.

Market items will cost $1 - $5 each. You can send toonies/loonies and $5-10 bills on the day, or pre-pay for each child in $5 & $10 increments on our Seymour Heights online store: the-seymour-heights-pac.square.site/s/shop, so you don’t have to remember to send cash! We also can accept cards.

We will need many volunteers both on Market day: December 8th and for set-up starting at noon on December 7th. Please email theseymourheightspac@gmail.com if you would like to help. Thank you to those who have already offered to volunteer!

In order to make this fun & magical event for all of our kids happen, we are asking for donations of clean, gently used:

• Small household items

• Holiday ornaments or decor

• Toys & books

• Jewellery & accessories

• Sporting goods

• Hats, scarves, gloves

• Purses & bags

• Gift bags, tags, ribbon, tape

• Any other kid or adult “gift item”

Please drop off inside main entrance of school on left side (please don’t block entrance) between now and Dec 7th!

Please don’t donate:

• Furniture, appliances/large electronics or large household items

• Clothing or shoes (other than listed above)

• Food or perishables

• Sharps such as knives (except scissors for wrapping!)

• Alcohol or anything illegal/dangerous for minors

Great excuse de-cluttering before the holiday season!
